  Editing existing newsgroup accounts:

To edit existing accounts, do the following:

On the Toolbar, click Tool and select Account Settings from the menu.

In the left-hand column, highlight the the desired news account.

Account Name  =  This is the name of the news account.  You can call it anything you wish.  If you have more than one news account, you'll want to make it unique.
Your Name  =  Enter your name or a nickname here.
Email Address  =  Verify the spelling of your e-mail address.

Enabling NNTP Authentication:

In the left-hand column, highlight Server Settings.

Server Type  =  This should be set to News Server (NNTP).  If it is not, you'll need to delete and recreate the account.
Newsgroup Server  =  Verify the spelling of the name address of the news server.  Most ISP follow the same format:  news.ispname.com.

NNTP authentication is required to download and post newsgroups.  If you do not have this enabled, you will not be able to log on.  This helps deter spammers from spamming on the system.

To the right, Verify you've checked the box labeled Always request authentication when connecting to this server.

Click the OK button to save the changes and to close the window.
