  Live Update in Norton Anti-Virus:

There are 2 ways to access the Live Update.

Method 1:  System Tray

In the System Tray, right-click the Norton Anti-Virus icon and select the option Open Norton Anti-Virus from the menu.

 

The first screen to appear is the Status screen.

If the Virus Definitions are out of date, click the Live Update button at the top left to check for new virus definitions.  This is the topic of the rest of this page.

Note:  To turn on the Automatic Live Update, click the Options button at the top left.  Click here for help with the Options.

 

Method 2:  Programs List

On the Desktop, click the Start button and select Programs -> Norton Anti-Virus -> Live Update - Norton AntiVirus from the menus.

 

Live Update:

The screen below shows you which NAV components are installed.  These are the components that will be checked for possible updates.

Click the Next button to continue.

 

LiveUpdate will search for updates.  This may take a few minutes.

When it's done, a screen like the following will tell you which updates have been found.

Click the Next button to download and install the updates.

 

The installation may take a few minutes.

When it's done, you'll see a screen like the following, which summarizes all up-to-date components.

Click the Finish button to complete the update.
