Special: How To Change Your Dial-Up Number, Password, Username & Domain Tail:

These screenshots and text will show you how to change your most common Internet connection settings. This is actually a fairly easy and fast process.

Note:  Netscape, Outlook & Outlook Express' automatic connection options rely on the connection you specify as the default connection.  You can configure this in Internet Options.  If you are using Internet Explorer to connect, you can still follow the instructions below or you can configure the username and password from within Internet Options as well:  Internet Explorer Instructions

You must access the connection properties to change the dial-up number you use to connect to the Internet.  Do the following:

On the Desktop, double click the My Computer icon.  Then, double click the Dial-Up Networking icon:

The Dial-Up Networking window appears.

Click the More button and select the option Edit Entry & Modem Properties from the menu.

Phone number  =  Enter the local access number you use to connect to the Internet.  Do not enter your home phone number.

Click the OK button.

We return to the Dial-Up Networking window.

Click the Dial button to connect.

The Connect to "Connection" window appears:

User name  =  Enter your username followed by the domain tail (@).
Password  =  Enter your dial-up password.

Important:  passwords are case-sensitive.  Ensure your Caps Lock key is disabled.

Note:  Changes made here will only remain permanent if you connect to the Internet.

Click the OK button to connect.

Note:  After connecting, open your browser to surf the Internet.
