  Creating new newsgroup accounts in Pan Newsreader:

To create a new account after the first run, follow these steps.

On the Toolbar, click Tools and select News Servers from the drop-down menu.

 

The Servers window appears.

To create a new account, click the Add button.

 

Server:

Name  =  enter a name for the news account.  It can be anything you wish.
Address  =  enter the news server address:  news.ispname.com.
Port  =  enter the default port number:  119.

Enabling NNTP Authentication:

NNTP authentication is required to log in.  NNTP authentication helps deter people from spamming you and others.  To enable NNTP authentication, do the following:

Authorization:

Check the box Server requires authorization.

Username  =  enter your dial-up username (including @ispname.com (or .net))
Password  =  enter your dial-up password.
Important:  passwords are case-sensitive.  Ensure your Caps Lock is NOT enabled.

Click OK to close the window.

 

The new account now appears in the Servers window.

Close the window when finished.
