  Enabling/Disabling Entourage's junk e-mail filter:

Entourage tests automatically each message you download against a series of rules.  If Entourage labels an e-mail message as spam, Entourage sends the message to the Junk E-mail folder.  If Entourage labels a message as a legitimate message, the message is sent to the Inbox.  Since this detection is done automatically, Entourage will, at times, detect some messages you want as spam and send them to the Junk E-mail folder.  Conversely, at times, Entourage will not label some spam as spam and send those messages to your Inbox.  The following screenshots explain how to use Entourage's junk mail filters.

On the Toolbar, click Tools and select Junk E-mail Protection from the menu.

A new Junk E-mail folder appears in the Folders list.

In the screenshot below, a junk message arrived in the Inbox.  Entourage displays a prompt letting you know it has detected junk mail.  Entourage will send the message to the Junk E-mail folder.  Check the folder frequently to ensure know good e-mail is being labeled as junk as deleted.
