Incoming Mail Server = Follows this format: mail.ispname.com (or .net) with your ISP's name substituted for "ispname.com (or .net)".

Outgoing Mail Server = Follows this format: mail.ispname.com (or .net) with your ISP's name substituted for "ispname.com (or .net)".

SMTP Authentication (e-mail username) is required to send e-mail.

 

  Edit an Existing E-mail Account:

Editing an e-mail account in Eudora is like creating one.  Follow these steps:

On the Toolbar, click Mail and select Preferences from the drop-down menu.

 

The Accounts window opens.

In the Account column, highlight the account you'd like to edit.

To the right, select the Account Information tab.

Account Type  =  This should be set to POP.  It will still work as IMAP.  The only way to change it back is to recreate the account.

Description  =  Give the account a name.
Email Address  =  Verify the e-mail address you've entered.
Full Name  =  Enter your name.

Incoming Mail Server  =  Incoming Server The Incoming (POP3) mail server usually follows this format:  mail.ispname.com (or .net).  Replace the "ispname.com (or .net)" with your ISP's name.
User Name  =  Enter your e-mail username (everything before the @).
Password  =  Verify the password to your e-mail account by retyping it.

Remember:  Passwords are case-sensitive.  Ensure your Caps Lock key is DISabled.

Enabling SMTP Authentication:

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)  =  This should be set to the name address of your outgoing mail server.  To change this setting, click the Server Settings button.

 

The following window appears:

Outgoing Mail Server  =  Outgoing Server The Outgoing (SMTP) mail server usually follows this format: mail.ispname.com (or .net).  Replace the "ispname.com (or .net)" with your ISP's name.

Server port  =  The outgoing mail server port should be set to the default of 25.

Do not enable Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

Authentication  =  Select Password from the menu.
User Name 
=  Enter your e-mail username (everything before the @).
Password
  =  verify the password to your e-mail account by retyping it.

Remember:  Passwords are case-sensitive.  Ensure your Caps Lock key is DISabled.

Click the OK button.

 

Select the Advanced tab.

In order to receive or send e-mail, you must check Enable this account.
You'll also want to enable Include when automatically checking for new mail.

Port  =  The incoming mail server port should be set to the default of 110.
Authentication  =  The incoming authentication type should be set to Password.

That's it.  Close the window.
