  Disable Norton AntiVirus 2004 Professional:

E-mail is the most common way in which computer viruses are spread, so you should typically have automatic e-mail scanning enabled.  E-mail scanning applies to programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape, Eudora, Pegasus, etc.  E-mail attachments, html files, etc. will be scanned automatically.  If you are having problems with an e-mail program, turn off Norton AntiVirus 2004 Professional to ensure Norton AntiVirus 2004 Professional Antivirus is not the culprit.

Note:  Disabling the Norton AntiVirus 2004 Professional Control Center will disable not only the automatic e-mail scanning but all of Norton AntiVirus 2004 Professional's protection.  To disable just the e-mail protection, click here.
