Internet Explorer 5 & 6 with BrowseBlast:

BrowseBlast works in conjunction with the proxy settings in the dial-up or LAN connection.  BrowseBlast will automatically configure the proxy address and port in Internet Explorer.  To verify these settings are correct, open Tools->Internet Options from the top toolbar of Internet Explorer.  Internet Options can also be found in the Control Panel.

Compatibility with other software:

Client for Microsoft Networks must be installed for BrowseBlast to function properly.

BrowseBlast will interfere with ProxyWatch and GlobalSafe.  They cannot be used together.

With Internet Explorer open, click the Tools menu and select Internet Options.

After opening Internet Options, click on the Connections tab.

Highlight your Internet connection and click the Settings button to the right.

Note:  if you have a LAN connection, click on LAN Settings below.

The Settings window appears:

Note there are three sections:  Automatic configuration, Proxy server, and Dial-up settings.

In the middle section, click Advanced.

The Proxy Settings window appears:

Warning:  BrowseBlast will interfere with ProxyWatch and GlobalSafe.  They cannot be used together.

1.  The first section, Servers, contains the local IP address and port that BrowseBlast uses.

HTTP  =  the Proxy address to use should be 127.0.0.1 and the Port should be 5500.

Leave all the other boxes blank.

2.  The second sections, Exceptions, contains any local addresses you'd like BrowseBlast to bypass.  With local addresses,  it may be faster to not use BrowseBlast to download the page.  Whatever addresses you enter here, you will access without the aid of BrowseBlast.

Note:  the addresses entered below are just examples.  They may not be local to you.

Click OK when finished.
