Netscape Navigator 4 with BrowseBlast:

BrowseBlast works in conjunction with the proxy settings in your browser.  BrowseBlast will automatically configure the proxy address and port in Netscape.  To verify these settings are correct in Netscape, open Netscape Navigator.

Important Note for Netscape:

If you try to stop BrowseBlast while running Netscape, you will be prompted to close Netscape first.

If you do not close Netscape first, you must manually remove the proxy address and port.  An explanation about how to do this is in this tutorial.

Compatibility with other software:

Client for Microsoft Networks must be installed for BrowseBlast to function properly.

BrowseBlast will interfere with ProxyWatch and GlobalSafe.  They cannot be used together.

On the Toolbar, click on Edit and select Preferences from the menu.

The following window appears:

Click on the plus sign next to Advanced to view its submenu, and highlight Proxies.

To the right, mark the circle Manual proxy configuration.

Click the View button.

After clicking the View button, the following screen appears.

HTTP =  the IP address should read 127.0.0.1 and the Port should read 5500.

Exceptions  contains any local addresses you'd like BrowseBlast to bypass.  With local addresses, it may be faster to not use BrowseBlast to download the page.  Whatever addresses you enter here, you will access without the aid of BrowseBlast.  Note:  the addresses entered below are just examples.  They may not be local to you.

Click OK and then OK again when you're finished.

Note:  If you try to stop BrowseBlast while running Netscape, you will be prompted to close Netscape first.
If you do not close Netscape first, you must manually remove the proxy address and port.  You can do this in the screenshot above.

Warning:  BrowseBlast will interfere with ProxyWatch and GlobalSafe.  They cannot be used together.
