  Configuring McAfee Personal Firewall Plus:

Occasionally, McAfee won't allow an application you're trying to run access to the Internet.  You'll need to grant this application access before the program will function properly.  For example, if Internet Explorer won't display Websites, McAfee Personal Firewall Plus may be blocking Internet Explorer's access.  You'll need to verify if McAfee is the culprit.  Do the following:

Open McAfee Personal Firewall Plus and select the Internet Applications tab.

Toward the middle of the screen, click the New Allowed Application link.

The Select Application to Allow window appears.

Browse to and highlight the desired application.  In this example, we chose "Internet Explorer".

Click the Open button.

We return to the main window.

Internet Explorer (or your desired application) now has been allowed full access.
