  Configuring Sygate Personal Firewall:

Occasionally, Sygate won't allow an application access to the Internet.  You'll need to grant this application access before the program will function properly.  For example, if Internet Explorer won't display Websites, Sygate Personal Firewall may be blocking Internet Explorer's access.  You'll need to verify if Sygate is the culprit.  Do the following:

Open Sygate Personal Firewall and click the Applications button.

The Applications window appears.

Applications List:

The application you were trying to use (in this example, Internet Explorer) should be in the list.  Note the four columns:  File Name, Version, Access, and Path.

File Name  =  Search the list and highlight Internet Explorer (or the program you're trying to use).
Access  =  There are three choices:  Block, Ask, and Allow.  If "Block" is listed, the program will not be able to access the Internet.  To the right of the file's name, click the small box until Sygate displays "Ask" or "Allow" in the Access column.
