  Blocking pop-up windows:

Pop-up windows are advertisements that appear in a small window when you go to certain Web sites.  Some web sites have five, six, seven, and sometimes more pop-ups. Needless to say, popups can be extremely annoying.  Netscape 8.x has a built-in pop-up blocker.  To enable/disable Netscape's pop-up blocker, do the following:

On the Toolbar, click Tools and select Options from the menu.

The Options window appears.

Security and Privacy:

Click the Site Controls link.

The Options - Site Controls window appears.

Select the Site List tab.

You can choose to globally allow or block pop-up windows from sites you trust, sites you're not sure of and/or even sites you don't trust.  You can also choose to allow or block pop-up windows for specific sites you trust, sites you're not sure of and/or even sites you don't trust.  Do the following:

Master Settings:

Highlight I Trust this Site, I'm Not Sure or I Don't Trust This Site.
In the
Web Features section, select or deselect the option Allow unrequested pop-up windows.

You can also apply these settings to specific sites.

My Settings:

Highlight the site from which you would like to allow/block pop-up windows.
In the Web Features section, select or deselect the option Allow unrequested pop-up windows.

When finished, click the OK button.

We return to the Options window.

Click the OK button to close the window.
