  Editing existing newsgroups accounts:

To edit existing accounts, do the following:

On the Toolbar, click Edit and select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings from the menu.

 

Highlight the the desired news account.

Account Name  =  This is the name of the news account.  You can call it anything you wish.  If you have more than one news account, you'll want to make it unique.
Your Name  =  Enter your name here.
Email Address  =  Verify the spelling of the e-mail address you entered.

 

Highlight Server Settings.

Server Name  =  Verify the spelling of the address of the news server.  It usually follows this format:  news.ispname.com.
Port  =  Leave the port at the default settings:  119.

Important:  Do not check Use secure connection (SSL).

Enabling NNTP Authentication:

To help deter spammers, we require NNTP authentication to log on to the server.

Check the box Always request authentication when connecting to this server.

Click the OK button to close the window.
