Adding a buddy to your Exodus contact list:

From time to time, you'll want to add someone to your list of contacts (a.k.a buddies).  To add a contact, do the following:

Below the Toolbar, along the row of icons, click the Add Contact button.

The Add Contact window appears.

Contact Type  =  Exodus will support all the chat clients you see listed below (as long as you have the proper 'transport' installed).  If you want to chat with someone who uses Yahoo! Instant Messenger, or any of the others, select the correct IM one from the list.

Note:  in this example, I'm selecting Jabber.

Contact ID  =  enter the contact ID of your buddy.  It follows this format:  username@im.ispname.com.

Nickname  =  enter the nickname by which your buddy is known.

Group  =  select the group to which you'd like to add the contact.  In this example, I chose the group 'Friends'.

Click OK.

If the new buddy accepts you into his/her list, you'll see them listed under the group you specified.

Note:  anyone who hasn't accepted you, will show as 'Pending'.  This is only if he/she hasn't denied you.
