  Adding a contact to your contact list in myJabber:

To add a contact to your contact list, click the Add Contact button (It's the + sign).

 

The Add User window opens.

Gateway  =  select Jabber User from the menu.
User ID (UID)  =  enter the IM address of the user you'd like to add to your list.  It follows this format:  username@im.ispname.com.
Nick Name  =  enter their nickname if they have one.
Reason  =  you can give them a reason.  Choose the default or enter one of your own.

Click Add.

 

The user will receive a pop-up window similar to the following:

The user can choose to add you to his/her contact list or decline you.

You'll receive this same window when someone requests to be in your list of contacts.  If you'd like to add the person to your contact list, click Accept, or click Decline to not add the user.
