Adding buddies to your contact list in our Instant Messenger:

Now that you have a new IM account, you'll want to chat with your friends.  You just need to add them to your contact list.  To add them, do the following:

On the Toolbar, click Contacts and select Add Contact.

The Add Contact window appears.

User ID: (username@im.ispname.com)  =  enter the IM address of the friend you'd like to add to your contact list.  It follows this format:  username@im.ispname.com.
Nickname for display  =  enter a nickname for the friend you'd like to add.
Group  =  select a group for your friend.

Click the Add button.

The nickname of the friend now appears in you list of contacts.

The yellow circle next to the name means the contact is still pending.  If the friend accepts you, the circle icon will change to a green thumbs-up icon.

When a user accepts you, our Instant Messenger will still ask you if you'd like the friend to see your online status.

Click the OK button.

The friend has now accepted you, and since the contact is online, you see a green thumbs-up icon.  If the contact were offline, you would see a white thumbs-down icon.

Now you'll want to chat.  Click here to learn how to chat with your friends.
