  Adding/finding a contact in Yabber:

In order to chat with your friends, you'll need to add them to your list of contacts.  To do this, do the following:

Towards the bottom, left-hand corner of the Yabber window, click the three-arrowed button.

Select Find/Add Contact and Add New Contact from the menus.

 

The Add New Contact window appears.

Select Contact Gateway:

The Contact Gateway should be Jabber.

Details:

Contact ID  =  enter the IM address of the contact you'd like to add.  It follows this format:  username@im.ispname.com.
Add to Group  =  select the group to which you'd like to add your contact.
Reason For Request  =  enter the reason why you want to add the contact to your list.

Click Add.

 

When the contact accepts the request, he/she is added to your list of contacts.  Any others are listed as pending.
