  Advanced Configuration Settings for a PPPoA Connection:

To configure the SpeedStream 4100 for PowerDSL, do the following:

After connecting the SpeedStream to your computer, open your Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.).
Address  =  Enter the following address:  192.168.0.1.
Click the Enter key.

 

The SpeedStream user interface appears.

Click the Advanced button to expand the menu.
Click the Connection Configuration button.

Internet Connection Configuration:

User ID:  Enter the username provided by your ISP.  It follows this format:  ####username@powerdsl.com where #### is your ISP's 4-digit code.
Password:  Enter the password provided by your ISP.
Retype Password:  Re-enter the password provided by your ISP.

VPI:  Depending on your setup, you should enter 0 or 8.
VCI:  Enter 35.
Protocol:  Select PPPoA from the menu.
Maximum allowable MTU:  This should be set to 1492.
ATM Encapsulation:  Leave this setting at LLC.
Connection Type:  Leave this setting at Smart keep alive.
Connection Timeout:  Leave this field blank.

 

Scroll down the screen and click the Save Changes button.

 

Restart Needed:

You'll need to restart the modem for the configuration changes to take affect.

Click the Restart button.

 

The modem restarts.

Important:  Do NOT turn off the modem or disconnect any cables or power cords until the modem power light has been steady green for at least 15 seconds.

Continue waiting until the next screen appears.

 

The modem has restarted.

Click the Connect button to begin your Internet session.
