Westell 327W — Gateway for Microsoft Windows

Configure a PPPoA Connection on the Westell 327W:

To configure the Westell 6100 for PowerDSL, do the following:

After connecting the Westell to your computer, open your Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.).
Address  =  Enter the following address:  192.168.1.1.

The Westell User Interface appears.

Click the profile editor button.

 

The Westell requires an administrative username and password to make changes to the settings.  By default, the username is admin and the password is password.  If you've never created your own username and password for the Westell, enter this username and password to make changes.  Otherwise, enter your own.

Click the OK button to continue.

 

The following screen appears:

Click the new connection button.

 

The New Connection screen appears.

Connection Name  =  Enter a distinctive name for the connection.
Account ID  =  Enter the username provided by your ISP.  It follows this format:  ####username@powerdsl.com where #### is your ISP's 4-digit code.
Account Password  =  Enter the password provided by your ISP.
Service Profile  =  Leave this as Default.

Select the option Always On.

If you'd like, check the option Save Password.  This way you won't have to type your password each time you connect.

Click the new button to continue.

 

The following prompt appears:

Click the OK button to save the new connection settings.

 

We return to the main page of the Westell interface.

Click the Configuration link and select Advanced WAN -> WAN from the menus.

 

The following screen appears:

WAN PORT  =  Select DSL ATM PORT from the menu.

Status:

If not already selected, select Enable from the first available menu.

To the right, click the Edit button.

 

A window similar to the following appears:

VPI  =  Enter 0.
VCI  =  Enter 35.
Protocol  =  Select PPPoA from the menu.

 

The screen changes.

Click the set VC button to continue.

 

The following prompt appears:

Click the OK button to save the configuration.

 

Another prompt appears.

The modem must be reset for the new configuration to take affect.

Click the OK button to reset the modem.

 

The modem resets...

 

You're now configured.

You're ready to surf the Internet at PowerDSL speeds.
