  Editing existing e-mail accounts:

Configuring new e-mail accounts is a simple task.  Do the following:

On your Palmtop, click the Start button and select Inbox from the drop-down list.

 

The Inbox window opens.

On the Toolbar at the bottom of your screen, click Tools and select Options from the pop-up menu.

 

The Options window appears.

Services:

Click the account to access the properties.

 

E-mail Setup (1/4):

Enter e-mail address  =  enter your full e-mail address.

Click the Next button to continue.

 

E-mail Setup (2/4):

User information:

Your name  =  enter your name or a nickname.
User name  =  enter the username of your e-mail address (without @ispname.com).
Password  =  enter your e-mail address password.

Important:  passwords are case-sensitive.  Ensure your Caps Lock key is NOT enabled.

By enabling the Save password option, you won't have to enter your password each time you get your e-mail.

Click the Next button to continue.

 

E-mail Setup (3/4):

Account information:

Service type  =  this should be set to POP3.  If it is not, you'll need to recreate the account.
Name  =  this is the name of your account i.e., Work, Home, Friends, etc.

Click the Next button to continue.

 

E-mail Setup (4/4):

Server information:

Incoming mail  =  enter the address of the incoming (POP3) mail server.  It normally follows this format:  mail.ispname.com.
Outgoing mail  =  enter the address of the outgoing (SMTP) mail server.  It normally follows this format:  mail.ispname.com.
Domain  =  leave this field blank.

Click the Options button to continue.

 

Enabling SMTP Authentication:

Advanced (1/3):

Options:

SMTP authentication helps deter people from spamming you.  It's as simple as checking a box.  This simply means that Pocket Outlook uses your e-mail username and password to send e-mail.  Without SMTP authentication, you will not be able to send e-mail.  This helps eliminate spam sent by our own customers.

To enable SMTP Authentication, check the box Outgoing e-mail server requires authentication.

Connection  = set this to match your Default Internet Settings.

Click the Next button to continue.

 

Advanced (2/3):

Options:

You can select to either get headers only or to download the full copy of the messages.  It's your choice.

Note:  if you choose Get message headers only, you'll be prompted to stipulate the allowed size.

Click the Next button to continue.

 

Advanced (3/3):

Options:

To conserve space, you can check the box Only display messages from the last # days.  Then enter the number of days desired.

Click the Finish button to complete the configuration.

 

Your done with the editing.

Click the OK button in the top, right-hand corner of the screen.
