Windows NT - Enabling/Disabling auto-dial

Enabling/Disabling the auto-dial feature:

To edit an existing connection in Windows NT, do the following:

On the Desktop, double click the My Computer icon.

 

The My Computer window appears.

Double click the Dial-Up Networking icon.

 

The Dial-Up Networking  window appears.

Phonebook entry to dial  =  From the menu, select the connection you'd like to edit.

Click the More button and select User preferences from the menu.

 

The User Preferences window appears.

Select the Appearance tab.

Preview phone numbers before dialing  =  When checked, the connection window will display the number being dialed.
Show connection progress while dialing  =  When checked, a window will appears showing the progress of the connection.
Always prompt before auto-dialing  =  When checked, the connection will not automatically dial.  The connection screen will appear allowing you to preview the username, password, etc. before dialing.

Click the OK button to save any changes and to close the window.
