FTP Voyager 10 Overview:

FTPVoyager 10 is a popular FTP Client for transferring large files.  It can be downloaded for evaluation purposes, after which you must purchase it.  You can download the latest version  from www.rhinosoft.com or from sites like www.tucows.com or www.download.com.

You can connect to only one site at a time, but can keep settings for multiple sites to be used later.

Key Settings:

FTP Host/Address = follows this format: users.ispname.com

Initial Remote Directory = Typically, no directory, initial remote directory or path.

Login/UserID = your username@ispname.com which will route you to the right directory.

Personal Website URL = The address of your website will follow this format: http://users.ispname.com/username

 

Manage your FTP Sites & Get Connected:

The main window of FTPVoyager is shown below.  

The Profile Manager Windows (two screens below) should open when you launch FTPVoyager.

Or, you can click the Connect button to Manage your FTP Sites or to connect to one of them.

 

After clicking the Connect button the following screen appears.

Click the New Site button to add a new FTP site.

Or, if you've already setup your site, simply highlight it in the list on the left.

Either way, fill in your information on the right.

Address = follows this format: users.ispname.com. No directory, initial remote directory or path.

Login = follows this format: username@ispname.com (which will route you to the right directory)

Note: Personal Website URL: The address of your website will follow this format: http://users.ispname.com/username This is the web address where other people will go to see your website.

Once you've configured your connection, click the Connect button to access your FTP site.

To connect, highlight your site in Site Manager and click the Connect button .

 

Quick Connect:

You can bypass the SiteManager by clicking the Quick Connect button .

 

Click the Quick Connect button to see the screen below.

Click the Connect Button to access your FTP Site.

Additionally, you can click the Save button to save these settings in the ProfileManager.

Your site is now setup just as if you had gone directly into the ProfileManager in the first place.

 

Transfer Files and Folders:

Once connected, CuteFTP's window looks like the one below.

The top boxes show files on your computer.  

The bottom boxes show files on your ftp personal web site.

You transfer files by "dragging-and-dropping" contents from one box to the other.

You can also drag-and-drop directly between your computer and FTP Voyager.

 

Disconnect from the FTP Server:

When you have finished transferring files, you can disconnect from the FTP server by clicking File->Disconnect.
