  Creating message rules:

Message rules can help you organize your e-mail messages as well as delete unwanted messages automatically.  They work in conjunction with folders.  To learn how to create folders, click the 'Folders' link above.

In this example we'll create a message rule that will allow Incredimail to automatically send e-mail to a specified folder.

On the Toolbar, click Tools and select Message Rules from the menu.

 

The Message rules window appears.

Click the Add button.

 

The following window appears:

Note the four fields.

In the first field, I selected From line contains from the menu.

In the second field, I entered Grandma.

This means that if the 'From line contains' the word 'Grandma', Incredimail will do something with it.  We'll tell Incredimail what to do with it in the next screenshot.

 

In the third field, I selected Move it to from the menu.

For the fourth field, click the button to the right.

 

The Folder Browse window appears.

Select the folder in which you'd like Incredimail to place these e-mails.  In this example, I selected the folder we created in the 'Folders' tutorial:  'Family'.

Click OK when finished.

 

Now Incredimail will send any e-mails to the 'Family' folder if they contain the word 'Grandma' in the 'From line' of the e-mail.

Click OK when finished.

 

The Message rules window has now been updated with the newly created rule.  Create as many as you need and adjust or delete them as necessary by click 'Modify' or 'Delete'.

Note:  you can also create rules that automatically delete certain types of e-mail.  Experiment.
