Changing 'Services' to 'Accounts' in Outlook 2000:

If Outlook 2000 has been set up with the Services (Workgroup) variation, but you're used to the Accounts (Internet Only) look, you can change it easily.

Note:  you may be asked for your Office 2000 CD; you'll want to keep it close.

Important:  if you've installed a messenger service after installing Outlook 2000, Outlook may not be able to change from 'Services' to 'Accounts' or vice versa.  You may have to uninstall and then reinstall Outlook 2000.  If you uninstall Outlook 2000, you'll want to back up your .pst files (they contain your saved e-mails).  Click here to see how to back up your e-mail.

On the Toolbar, click Tools and select Options from the menu.

The Options window opens.

Select the Mail Services tab.

Towards the bottom, right corner, click Reconfigure Mail Support.

The following window appears:

Select Internet Only.

Click Next to continue.

You'll see the following warning:

If anyone else is using Outlook 2000 on your computer, Services will be changed to Accounts for them as well, but it won't affect any e-mail they have.

Click Yes to continue.

Outlook 2000 will close down and so you'll have to reopen it.  You may then be asked to insert your Office 2000 CD.
