Error 550 or Problems Sending E-mail

E-mail clients:  Windows | Macintosh | Novell |

Explanation:  We require you to authenticate with a username and password to send messages on our servers.  You will receive an error 550 in Outlook Express and Outlook if you have not enabled outgoing authentication.  In other e-mail clients like Netscape, Eudora, Pegasus, Opera, etc. you'll also receive errors when sending e-mail.  You must enable this function.  The following links take you to pages explaining how to enable SMTP authentication in various e-mail clients.

Note:  If you can't send e-mail, this may very well be the culprit.
